Merry Christmas, all! Feels good to break the silence! I've been holed up in home studios for the past month, working hard with good, dear friends on a Christmas EP. The project is called "Celebration", and in a few short hours, it'll be up and available via iTunes.

To commemorate this festive occasion, I'll be holding a contest via Twitter. Here's how it works:

1. When the record drops online, I'm going to tweet an announcement with an iTunes link.

2. Every time you tweet about the record (must include iTunes link and the hashtag #zhcelebration), you'll receive an entry into a drawing for one of a few prizes.

You can tweet AS MUCH as you want. In fact, the more you tweet, the more entries you'll have. Unfortunately, spamming entries will not be met with Christmas cheer.

3. On Dec 12th, all entries will be gathered and winners will be selected at random. Presents will be gifted ASAP:

- 5 tweeters will win physical copies of "Celebration" in the mail, complete with a handwritten note of Christmas encouragement and well wishing.

- 1 GRAND PRIZE winner will receive a Christmas song written about them and/or a topic of their choosing, in the genre of their choosing. This will be subject to minimal approval - just in case someone asks me to write a song about someone's Christmas booty or something. Once the song is complete (should take just a few days), I'll email you a polished, mixed mp3, as well as post it online for the masses to hear.

I am actually quite embarrassed that I have not updated my site since November. That needs to change. So here I am, vowing that yes....I will do a better job keeping yall posted.
Just like the springtime, lots of newness abounds! Here is what has been happening lately!

Sideproject A few good friends (Micah Bickham, Jay Snider, and Patty Hunton) and I have joined forces and started a band called Hooray For Love. We have all been leading worship/playing worship music for several years, and have all had a pretty substantial desire to create something fresh and new in that world. So, Hooray For Love was born and my friends, it is very exciting for us. It's absolutely refreshing to start from scratch and try something new. We are currently working at of our home studios on an EP, and if things continue to progress the way they are, we will be tracking a full length late this summer. Producing Projects?
I had the joyous pleasure of producing an EP for Emilie McCormack this past year, which turned out really great! Emilie was a blast to work with, and it was so encouraging to work with a great friend who's passion for Jesus truly shows in her music. Great woman of God, great friend, great music. Check out her EP.

This spring, I will be in the studio with Theophany, fronted by my good friend Brett McDonald. Really really really excited to get to hang out with that guy, who has inspired me in many ways. Brett really nurtured me in the world of music and worship music, so it will be great to reconnect with guy. Not to mention the fact that I have the sense of humor that I do because of him. Barge Lottom.

So, this is a little electronic/hip-hop project that Brian, Travis Snackies and I are working on this school year for Rebelbase. I did the music, B and T rapped, and we filmed last week. The whole process was a total blast, and I found a new, much needed creative outlet. Exciting! Enjoy!

Yes, tis true! My friends, this fall/spring, I am booking a series of house shows. What that means is you open up your home, invite over friends and family, and I show up and playing music in your living room (or on your back porch). In my opinion, you can't beat the atmosphere of a show like this. It's fun and chill.....not to mention the fact that we are all snuggled in close. I'll play some songs, maybe share some stories, take requests, etc. It'll be grand!

Heyo...hope this finds all of you fully embracing the spirit of summer time! This is indeed my fave season of the year, in spite of the ridiculous Texas heat. I'm talking 110 degrees people. Curse you heat index.

Hey all! How's your 09? Mine is fantastic. Currently sitting a Starbucks in Kerrville, Texas with good friends. We are doing a Midwinter retreat here. My allergies are kicking my tail and I'm throwing down Naked "Well Being" juice like there's no tomorrow. Let's hope the juice lives up to its name.....the well being part, not the naked.

Two quick things. Good buddy Bob Boyd has been sending me masters over the past few days and I'm pretty floored! The record sounds so so so rad! I should have the master copy in the next couple days, and then we send off for duplication....last step! It's almost here! Hold out juuuuust a little bit longer!
